With the summer holidays fast approaching, no doubt parents across the nation will be in search of some great deals for a cheap holiday in 2018.

Now, British Airways has unveiled a tempting offer as the airline unveils its 'Kids Fly Free' deal - which includes the summer holiday dates.

In fact, they're offering free return flights for children under 12 on a selection of flights from London Heathrow.

However before you get too excited and start planning a trip to a sun-soaked hotspot like Spain or Greece, it's worth noting that the deal is only valid on flights within the UK.

In fact, children go free on return journeys to the likes of Belfast , Edinburgh , Glasgow , Aberdeen , Leeds and Newcastle, when travelling with at least one full-paying adult.

Still, if you've been planning a summer staycation and want a fuss-free, quick way to travel, then it could be a handy way of stretching that budget a little bit further.

Not to mention that there are some great cheap British destinations and plenty of brilliant holiday parks across the UK that are sure to appeal to the whole family if you are after a family holiday with a difference.

Parents have ample opportunity to take advantage of the offer, which is valid until the 13th May 2018.

British Airways have been quite generous with their booking window, offering up travel dates from the 1st June through to 5th November 2018.

If you don't manage to bag one of the discounts, or are looking for a holiday further afield, then it's worth checking out British Airways' ongoing deals where there are plenty of bargains to be had.

The airline also recently introduced new hand luggage-only fares on a host of its long haul destinations including AustinBostonDelhiDenverDubaiHong KongOaklandPhiladelphiaPunta Cana and Singapore.

Passengers will still receive complimentary food and drink and be able to take two items of hand luggage on board, but they will need to pay extra to check in a bag or choose a seat.
