AK Songstress has waded into the battle for the “dance hall” queen title in Ghana. According to her Kaakie and Mzvee, do not deserve to be crowned the queen of dance hall in Ghana as they have been parading themselves.

Until her joining the race, both Kaakie and Mzvee have publicly declared they are queen of dance hall in music in Ghana. Entertainment pundits are divided as to who really is whiles others believe they aren’t there yet. Kaakie sometime last month whiles performing at the “MTN pulse turn up” concert jabbed Mzvee. She said, “I heard a little girl wan take the spot”. The “toffee pon tongue” singer then threw a challenge to whoever feels she up to the task to join her on stage and battle her.

Mzvee who also performed at that same event professed to be the dance hall queen. She later said there was no bad blood between herself and the high grade family diva. She further stated that the issue about who the dance hall queen is, is of no importance because its nothing serious. “My fans say I am the dance hall queen and I appreciate that and I will accept it but not going to let it define me” she added.

But speaking to king Lagazee on his show on Hitz fm, AK Songstress described both artist as “old woman” and ‘karaoke’ queen.

Although she didn’t reveal who is the ‘old woman’ and who is the karaoke queen, she explained one of them is sleep walking so she doesn’t know she is out dated whiles the other person mounts the stage to as a dance hall act but only sings other people’s song despite she having two hit albums.

“In my book, I don’t see that to be a dance hall queen. You need to do your own songs and rock the stage, rock the crowd and let them know that you are a dance hall queen. They will crown you the dancehall queen but you don’t go about saying ‘I am the dance hall queen’ when you cannot prove it by your stage works,” she added.

She further said she is ever ready to face any of them in a battle.
